Reporting a problem with a job
If a completed job is not right, report it from the booking page rather than paying and hoping.
How to raise it
On a job the contractor has marked complete, choose Report a problem and describe what went wrong. Be specific — "the upstairs bathroom was not cleaned and the garden waste was left by the gate" is far more useful than "bad job".
You can do this while the review window is still open. The date it closes is on the booking page.
What happens then
- The contractor's payment is held immediately. It stays held however long the review takes.
- Your contractor is emailed and shown exactly what you wrote, so they can respond or put it right.
- Our team reviews it, including any photos on the job.
The decision
We will email you and the contractor with the same written decision. If the hold is lifted, the payment goes back into the queue.
Be specific, and be fair
The contractor reads what you write. Most problems turn out to be a misunderstanding about scope, and a clear description usually gets it fixed quickly — often by the contractor going back to finish the part that was missed.
